Barbara is a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT) and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 500 hours level with the nationally recognized Yoga Alliance. She also holds certifications in Restorative Yoga and Pre-Natal Yoga. She has taught in various local studios in Bradford, Haverhill, Newburyport and Georgetown, MA. As a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) she feels her professional knowledge enhances her understanding of the anatomy of yoga and teaches a compassionate style of Hatha Yoga with an emphasis on proper body alignment to promote a safe and beneficial practice. Recently she completed her certification as a Nutrition Specialist, (NS) and enjoys teaching and writing about health issues and the positive impact of yoga. “My goal is to make every yoga class benefit each student on an individual basis no matter what level of skill or knowledge they possess.”
Find depth in the basics. This class makes the hard poses easy, and the easy poses hard. Beginners and more experienced practitioners alike can benefit from attention to fundamentals. We use the same alignment and actions to build a foundation or strengthen it. We open ourselves to what’s new by reinforcing the familiar.
